Water & Waste Management

Reduce water footprint, tailings and environmental risks with effective waste and water management

Overview

The disposal of materials on mine sites needs to be handled with detailed engineering, monitoring, and maintenance at every stage of the mine life cycle to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Tailings need to be safely contained and managed, water management plans and recycling efforts need to be implemented in the face of scarcity, and mitigation measures are necessary to prevent contamination, erosion and sedimentation in nearby water bodies. Water and waste management systems need to be designed well but also implemented effectively, such as water truck fill point standpipe systems for dust suppression and water delivery.

Not only do sediment or acid runoffs result in costly cleanup efforts that can be financially damaging to a mine operator’s bottom line, but social license to operate and investment prospects can also be severely affected.

Key Client Challenges

How can we minimize water consumption in our mining processes and optimize water use and delivery efficiency?
What are the best practices for tailings management and how can we ensure safe containment and long-term stability of tailing storage facilities?
How do we fully adopt and implement technologies to treat and manage acid mine drainage (AMD) more effectively?
